As smart scooters become mainstream in the market, SYM has introduced a KEYLESS ignition system across multiple models. This system integrates features such as keyless start, smart vehicle locator, and one-touch fuel tank and seat unlocking, providing riders with a more convenient experience. However, in order to balance aesthetic details with long-term durability, further optimization in mechanical design and component layout was required.
Solution: Magnus × LSC ECOSYSTEM Collaboration
Magnus partnered with LSC ECOSYSTEM to enhance the product design and mechanical structure, focusing on optimizing both functional structure and external appearance:
●ABS+PC components: including buttons, upper cover, and lower cover.
●Waterproof elements: integrated O-rings and rubber sealing for button protection.
●Design considerations: waterproofing and weather resistance were incorporated at the design stage to ensure adaptability to various environments.
Innovation and Reliability Enhancements
One of the major highlights of this design is the screwless structure, which provides a clean and refined appearance while achieving:
● IP65 dustproof and waterproof rating.
● Successful 1-meter drop test, improving system reliability and durability.
Project Outcome
Through this project, Magnus, in the role of providing OEM/ODM manufacturing services, supported SYM in successfully mass-producing the KEYLESS system. This case demonstrates the team’s strengths in product design and mechanical design, making it a representative success story in the field of smart scooters where innovation, practicality, and quality converge.
